Terms of service
These terms are an agreement between you and Veer Gadodia (“we”), the operator of Explored at exploredworld.com. By using Explored you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
The service
Explored lets you build a map of the places you have been and share it as a link. It is free today. We may add, change or remove features, and may change or discontinue the service; we will try to give reasonable notice when a change affects something you have shared.
Who may use it
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country to use an online service without parental consent, whichever is higher.
Your account
You may use Explored without signing in. Signing in with Google ties your map to that Google account so you can reach it from other devices. You are responsible for keeping that account secure. You can delete your Explored account at any time from the avatar menu; this permanently removes your map and every link to it.
Your content
The map you build and the name you put on it are yours. You give us the limited licence needed to store it, display it to people you share a link with, and render preview cards for those links. Sharing a link means anyone who has it can view the map. Do not use a name that impersonates someone else, infringes anyone's rights, or is abusive.
Acceptable use
Do not try to access other people's maps other than through links they shared, probe or overload the service, scrape it, interfere with its operation, or use it for anything unlawful. We may remove content or close accounts that break these terms, and will tell you why where we reasonably can.
Our content
The Explored name, logo, design and software are ours or our licensors'. Map boundaries come from open data sources and are shown for personal use; borders are approximate and carry no political meaning.
Privacy
How we handle personal data is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
Disclaimer
Explored is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, availability, or that it will be error-free. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they apply to the extent permitted.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of Explored. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars, whichever is greater. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Termination
You can stop using Explored at any time and delete your account from the avatar menu. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as your content licence for links already shared until you delete them, the disclaimer and the limitation of liability, survive termination.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which the operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country and may bring claims in your local courts.
Changes
When these terms change, the date at the top changes. Continuing to use Explored after a change means you accept it. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
