Email team@exploredworld.com and a real person will answer, usually within two days. Tell us what you were doing and what happened, and if it is about a map, send the link. There is no ticket system and no bot.
Getting started
Type where you have been into the box at the bottom, separated by commas, and the globe lights up as you go. Spelling does not have to be perfect, and most nicknames work, so “NYC”, “Bali” and “the states” all land where you would expect. Nothing needs an account: your map saves itself from the first place you add.
Adding US states
Type the name directly, or open the United States to see its states. In the app, press and hold it; on the website, right-click it. The states appear and you can tap the ones you have been to, or use Add all. Press × to close it again.
Importing from your photos (iPhone)
The app can read the location saved on each photo and light up the places and states where they were taken. This happens on your phone. The pictures are never uploaded, never copied, and never seen by anyone but you. You review every place the scan finds before any of it joins your map.
If you allow full library access, the app keeps noticing new photos so your map stays current. With limited access it can only see the photos you picked, so nothing updates on its own. You can change this in iOS Settings, under Explored, then Photos. To stop the automatic updates without changing the permission, turn off Update from Photos in the account sheet.
Removing a place
Tap the × on its chip, or tap the place on the globe again. Removing a country also removes the states inside it and any photo counts it contributed, so the glow goes with it.
Sharing
Sharing creates a link. Anyone with the link sees your globe, your count and the first name you chose, and they need nothing installed. Change the places or the name whenever you like and the link stays the same. Links are unguessable but they are not secret, so treat one like any link you send.
Signing in
You do not need to. Signing in with Apple or Google exists so your map survives a new phone and opens on the web. If the account you sign into already has a map, that map is what you get back, untouched, and the one on this device stays where it is so any link you already shared keeps working.
Deleting your data
Email team@exploredworld.com from the address on your account and we will delete the account, the map and everything attached to it, which also stops the share link working. We answer these within thirty days and usually much sooner. The privacy policy sets out what is stored and why.
Something is wrong
If a place will not match, a map looks empty, or the app behaves oddly, write to us with the link and roughly when it happened. Bugs get fixed quickly and you will hear back either way.
